Gunfire, Panic, and Rumors

So beyond belief was this news that I don’t know if I would have believed it had I not then heard more bursts of gunfire. Little-known gunmen were firing at unarmed people.

 

My kith and kin started to panic. I told the children to put on passionate clothes, take tea, biscuits, bread, and a flashlight, and hide in the basement. It was suntanned and cold there.

 

My 6-year-old daughter began to cry, “Dad, why do they necessity to kill us? What have we done to them?” she asked.

 

I told her to cool off down, trying not to show that I was seized by panic myself. I did not know what to do. My son, 3, did not seem to be told what was going on and was sitting quietly in the basement.

 

In a hardly while, shooting broke out in our neighborhood. One of the neighboring houses was set brilliant, then another. The sound of gunfire grew closer.

 

I laboured to think of a safe place to hide my natural, wife, and children – the basement? the sauna? the bathroom? – if the attackers set fire to the auditorium.
